The Fire Shift Supervisor position is primarily responsible to direct
and supervise the programs and activities of an assigned shift to
coordinate fire personnel and coverage for assigned shift as well as
coordinate activities with other company departments and provide highly
responsible assistance as directed by the Fire Section Head. Work
Performed:
Supervise and coordinates activities of assigned shift including shift
fire suppression, emergency medical services and hazardous material
management.
Plans, directs, coordinates and reviews the work plan for assigned
shift, meets with staff to identify and resolves problems; assigns work
activities and monitors workflow, reviews and evaluates work products,
methods and procedures.
Schedules personnel for assigned shift to ensure proper coverage and
manpower, endorses and schedules vacation and other leave requests,
prepares timesheets for all shift personnel. Assumes management
responsibility for all services, operations and activities of assigned
shift.
Participates in the development and implementation of goals, objectives
and priorities for assigned shift; recommends and administers changes
in Fire Section policies and procedures. Work with other management
staff to maintain, revise or improve the overall operations of the
section.
Establishes and monitors employee performance objectives; prepares and
presents employees performance reviews, work with employees to correct
deficiencies and implements discipline procedures.
Completion of Technical Secondary education (12 Years) followed by 2
years full time training leading to a Diploma in Fire Engineering/Fire
Science. 8 years of increasingly responsible experience in a refinery
including two years as a Lead Fireman.
Good knowledge of English Language. |
